DOORWAYS TO DEMONIC BONDAGE ;SECOND-HAND ITEMS
By Elijah Asuo Wiredu
Things that have been used by one or more owners can be a channel for forces to put one into bondage. In Africa and some other parts of the world dealing with second-hand items is big business. In Ghana, for example, there are over one million people who are directly or indirectly employed in the second-hand items chain of business. The items include clothes, towels, bed sheets, shoes, television sets, fridges, air conditioners, plates and utensils, chairs, mattresses, cars and spare parts, mobile phones, books, rings and many more. In Africa, it’s very usual to use imported secondhand items of every kind. We take them even as opportunities without taking caution. The lesson is that when the need be for one to use a second-hand item, remember to pray over it.
A minister of the church of Pentecost Apostle Jimmy Markins missed his way when he was invited into the U.S.A for a program and was accommodated by a lady who gave him her bedroom. When he left after a few days, the lady slept on the bed and on the next day she had a surgical operation to do. To her surprise, there was no need for the surgery because God had healed her. This is but one of the many instances where people have come into contact with other people’s used items and have been blessed with them.
In Mark 5:25-34, Veronica took hold of Jesus’ robe and she was healed from a twelve-year-old hemorrhage condition. In Acts 19:12, when Paul’s handkerchiefs were carried away to sick people they were healed. In 2 Kings 2, Elisha by receiving the cloak of Elijah inherited a double portion of Elijah’s anointing. These tell us that it is biblically proven that coming into contact with something that someone has used before can open you up to receive that anointing (positive or negative) that they possess.
We do not dispute the fact that second-hand items are a big business in Africa. Sometimes they come in grades of varying qualities. In fact, they are also referred to as slightly used items. We also know that it is difficult to live in Africa without patronizing the at all. Sometimes you need to import a brand new item if you will not buy the second hand because you can’t get the brand new to buy. That is why we are saying that we need to know the dangers that they come with and pray over them before and while we patronize them.
